Question 1

In fighting form and freedom,
where do you position your work?
I’ve never chosen a side
in fighting form and freedom,
but err on the side of free verse
where I write without meter or rhyme.
In fighting form and freedom,
where do you position your work?

Answer 1

Form tapers language, helps you find the words.
I find that endless choice can be chaotic
and sure, the mind’s chaotic but I want
to find a sort of sense in sentiment.
Yes, thought will lead to language but I’ve found
that language very often leads to thought.
The rules I sent myself will help to shape
my thoughts. So rarely do I have a single
truth that must be written perfectly.
To write is to uncover truths, and form
can be a shepherd in that task.
